Arise and Shine (Entry #3)

Sunrise at Alma Pond, there are carp circling in foreground   A sense of mystery.  The light is breaking through.  The Tall white pine (with reflection) is where eagles often perch.

Isaiah 60:1-2  Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.

At creation, light was the first thing created—“Let there be light.”  Light has power.  Seeing the light is akin to experiencing God.  There is no darkness in him.

Does it feel like darkness around you?  Night will end.  Hope awaits those who believe.  The times were dark for Isaiah and the nation of Judah;  the enemy threatened to destroy.

Isaiah’s message in verse 1 is that God’s light has risen on us! Our light has come.  It may seem like the thick darkness will win—it won’t!  God is sending his presence and glory.  Just call on Him.  “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  Jeremiah 33:3.

Don’t give in.  Even a small light dispels darkness, release the small light you have and the glory of the Lord will rise on you. Jesus is the light of the world.  Turn to the light.  When many people start to make small and seemingly insignificant decisions to do the right thing—it makes a difference.  The light comes;  the night ends. Every morning the light comes.   Receive his presence and peace.  God’s desire is to give you his peace.

We are hungry and thirsty Lord to see you show your power!  Will we choose to surrender to the light of Jesus Christ?
